The electric current is 220 Volt AC (50 cycles) throughout
the country. There are many plugs and sockets in use. Travellers
with shavers, tape recorders and other appliances should carry
a plug-adapter kit. The better hotels will have available 110
Volt transformers.
From this picture you can see that Thailand uses
a two pin plug. The flat pins are more common though many of
the sockets allow two round pins as well. Most houses have plugs
sockets that only allow two pins. However, in our house, we
have ones that allow a three pin plug. You can see in the above
example that you can plug all three kinds in this socket. Computers
use these three pin plugs. If we have to plug the computer into
a two pin (flat) socket we just use an adaptor (available everywhere).
